According to recent reports, Manchester United is making a serious push to sign Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly eager to build the team’s future around him.

The situation originates from a reported impasse in contract negotiations between Vinícius and Real Madrid. In November, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri cited sources indicating talks had suffered a “complete breakdown,” making a transfer possible. He reported that Madrid had set an initial asking price of €150 million for the Brazilian international. Tavolieri also noted a significant rift between the player and manager Xabi Alonso, with a source suggesting it was “very difficult to imagine” Vinícius remaining at the club next season.

Spanish outlets now claim Vinícius recently held a meeting with Manchester United representatives in Madrid.
