Vini Jr. Unfazed After Real Madrid’s Triumph Over Man City

Vini Jr. had the last laugh at the Etihad Stadium earlier this week, as Real Madrid edged past Manchester City with a 3-2 victory in the Champions League. However, even after securing the win, he hasn’t held back in his response to the aftermath.

A player who often sparks debate, Vini Jr. was recently the subject of a staggering €250 million transfer offer. Yet, for now, he remains a key figure at Real Madrid, continuing to make headlines both on and off the pitch.

Ballon d’Or Tifo Controversy Lives On

The Ballon d’Or debate surrounding Vini Jr. and Real Madrid hasn’t faded, despite months passing since the initial uproar. That tension resurfaced ahead of the Champions League quarter-final first leg when Man City fans unveiled a massive tifo featuring Rodri kissing the Ballon d’Or, accompanied by the words “Stop crying your heart out”—a nod to Oasis, a band famously supported by City fans.

It was a clear attempt at mind games, but given the final score, the move may have backfired. With City now trailing in the tie, the effectiveness of the banner is up for debate.

Vini Jr. Unbothered by City Fans’ Antics

Rather than getting rattled, Vini Jr. turned the tifo into motivation. Speaking to Sky, he confidently stated: “The banner only gave me more motivation… They’re fans, so they can do what they want. Maybe they should focus more on supporting their own team.”

If the goal was to throw him off, it certainly didn’t work. Instead, his response is likely to leave City fans frustrated, knowing their attempt to get under his skin had the opposite effect.

With everything on the line in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, Man City supporters will need to rally behind their team if they hope to overturn the deficit and keep their Champions League dreams alive.
