Isak, 25, has quickly become one of the Premier League’s most feared forwards since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2022. After scoring 25 goals in 40 appearances last season, he’s now firmly on Liverpool’s radar as they look to strengthen their attack under new manager Arne Slot.

Following Diaz’s impending departure to Germany, Liverpool are ready to meet Newcastle’s £150 million valuation of Isak, which could make him their most expensive signing ever and break the British transfer record for the second time this summer, following the acquisition of Florian Wirtz for £116.5 million.
Sources close to the situation indicate that contract renewal talks between Isak and Newcastle have broken down. The striker is said to be frustrated over the club’s refusal to match his £300,000-per-week wage demands, as well as their lack of ambition in the transfer market this summer.
