Marcus Rashford’s potential transfer from Manchester United to AC Milan during the January window may be in jeopardy following developments involving another player in Italy.

Rashford has been widely tipped to leave Old Trafford this month after falling out of favor under manager Ruben Amorim. The forward has not featured for United since their Europa League victory against Viktoria Plzen on December 12.

Amorim recently stated he is uncertain whether Rashford has played his final match for the club. Several teams, including Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham, have reportedly expressed interest in the 27-year-old. However, AC Milan has emerged as the frontrunner, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now an advisor at the Italian club, openly expressing his intent to initiate talks with Rashford about a move to San Siro.

Despite this, the deal may be at risk due to a setback involving Milan’s forward Noah Okafor. Okafor was expected to join RB Leipzig on loan with an option to buy, creating space in Sergio Conceicao’s squad for Rashford. However, according to Sky Sports reporter Philipp Hinze, Okafor’s transfer has been canceled following medical examinations that revealed he would be sidelined for an extended period.

With Okafor now returning to Milan, the club faces a roster challenge, as they already have a wealth of attacking options, including Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham, Samuel Chukwueze, and Alvaro Morata. This development complicates Milan’s ability to accommodate Rashford, casting doubt on the likelihood of his move.
