Manchester United in Talks for Ardon Jashari Amid AC Milan’s £25.6m Bid

Manchester United have reportedly initiated discussions with the representatives of Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari, while Italian giants AC Milan have made a formal €30 million (£25.6 million) bid for the 22-year-old.

Both Fulham and West Ham have also shown interest in the Swiss midfielder, placing him high on their list of summer targets. However, their advances have been turned down so far. Manchester City were previously linked but ultimately opted to spend £46.3 million on AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders.

Jashari, a Swiss talent who rose through the ranks in his homeland, made the move to Belgium’s top flight in 2024. With increased attention from major European clubs, many are now asking: who exactly is Ardon Jashari?

Jashari’s Career Overview

Jashari began his journey at FC Luzern, joining their youth system at just 11 years old. He steadily progressed through the academy and debuted for the club’s second team at 17. A year later, he was promoted to the senior side and would go on to make over 100 appearances for Luzern, contributing nine goals and 11 assists.

In 2024, Club Brugge signed him in a record deal worth €6 million (£5.1 million) for Luzern. His debut season in Belgium was a resounding success. Brugge secured the domestic cup, finished second in the league, and reached the Champions League round of 16. Jashari’s performance earned him the Belgian Pro League Player of the Year award for the 2024/25 season.

On the international stage, Jashari made his debut for Switzerland at the age of 20 and has earned four caps so far.

Transfer Developments

Reports from HLN indicate that AC Milan have submitted a £25.6 million offer for the midfielder. Despite this, Manchester United remain firmly in the race and have already contacted the player’s camp. According to *The Mirror*, United are still confident in their pursuit.

*Manchester Evening News* previously reported that part of new manager Ruben Amorim’s summer strategy involves reinforcing the midfield, particularly with Christian Eriksen expected to leave the club on a free transfer.

While Milan’s bid is notable, Club Brugge are reportedly holding out for at least €40 million (£34.1 million), meaning the Italian side’s current offer may not meet their valuation.

Champions League Football a Key Factor

One potential stumbling block for both United and Milan is their inability to offer Champions League football, something Jashari is said to be prioritizing in his next move. This has already led him to turn down approaches from Fulham and West Ham.

Interest from Other Clubs

Jashari’s talent hasn’t gone unnoticed by Europe’s elite. Arsenal were monitoring him during his time at Luzern, although former sporting director Edu never pursued a move. Borussia Dortmund were also linked before securing the signature of Jobe Bellingham. Meanwhile, PSG have reportedly scouted Jashari but are yet to take formal steps.

As the transfer window continues to unfold, Manchester United’s chances of landing Jashari may hinge on whether they can match Brugge’s asking price and convince the player of their long-term vision—despite not offering immediate Champions League football.
