According to prominent Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are prepared to spend £45 million to secure the signing of a second Liverpool player during this summer transfer window.

Real Madrid have already strengthened their defense this summer by securing the signings of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold, with Álvaro Carreras expected to follow soon. However, the Spanish giants may not be finished yet in the transfer market.

One player firmly on their radar is Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté. The French international has admirers within the Real Madrid hierarchy at Valdebebas, and with just one year remaining on his contract, the club sees a potential opening—similar to the deal that brought Alexander-Arnold to Madrid.

Recent reports suggest that Konaté has rejected Liverpool’s initial offer of a contract extension. This development has boosted Real Madrid’s hopes of landing him, either now or as a free agent next summer.

According to CaughtOffside, Real Madrid are open to signing Konaté this summer, though they are only prepared to spend up to £25 million for his services. Liverpool, however, are unlikely to accept that figure, reportedly valuing the 26-year-old at no less than £40 million if they are to part ways with him in this transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Konaté, and their status as the reigning European champions could tempt the defender with a return to his homeland. Still, Real Madrid remain confident that their reputation and stature are enough to persuade any top player to join them.
