“The first thing to do once you get to Old Trafford is to bench him till the next transfer window and then sell him. He’s done enough harm to the team” – Ruben Amorim has been advised to swiftly offload a Manchester United star earning £200,000 per week. The recommendation highlights the financial impact of retaining the player, and Amorim may consider reshaping his squad by freeing up resources for future signings and team improvements.
Incoming Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has been advised by talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook to sell Brazilian winger Antony.

Manchester United’s rough start to the season has seen them placed 14th in the Premier League after nine games, with only three wins.
They remain winless in the Europa League, having drawn their first three matches, though they recently advanced to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a win over Leicester City.
With United’s struggles prompting Erik ten Hag’s recent dismissal, Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim is expected to take over permanently after Ruud van Nistelrooy’s interim stint.
When asked by the Daily Mail about which of Ten Hag’s signings should remain, Crook didn’t hesitate, stating, “Sell. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday,” regarding Antony.
Antony began his career in Brazil with Sao Paulo before transferring to Ajax in 2020, where he worked with Ten Hag. United signed him for £81.3 million in 2022, and he currently earns £200,000 per week under a contract until 2027, with an option for an additional year.
However, this season, Antony has played only two Premier League games and scored just once in the Carabao Cup. To date, he has 87 appearances for United, with 12 goals and five assists, though this season has brought limited playing time.
United’s bad start to the season is hardly down to Anthony!! If he is sold it’s not like we’ll get even half of what we paid for him!! With a new manager, every player gets a fresh start and who knows Amorim may get the best out of him??
