With Ineos now managing football operations at Old Trafford, the club is pursuing a new permanent head coach. While Ruud van Nistelrooy is filling the role on an interim basis, there is uncertainty about his interest in a long-term appointment.

United has reached a preliminary agreement with Sporting Lisbon to appoint Amorim, who led the Portuguese club to its first league title in nearly two decades and is rumored to be in contention for Manchester City should Pep Guardiola depart.
