Fabrizio Romano has revealed Liam Delap’s preferred destination for next season, noting that the young striker is highly interested in a move—especially with Chelsea showing strong interest.

Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap is drawing significant attention from clubs in England and abroad, with Chelsea among those monitoring his progress closely.

 

The 22-year-old has been impressive this season under Kieran McKenna, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists in 32 games, despite Ipswich facing challenges in the Premier League.

 

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, and while Chelsea are interested, they aren’t the only club pursuing him.

 

According to Fabrizio Romano via GiveMeSport, Delap prefers to stay in the Premier League. He’s currently being tracked by both Chelsea and Manchester United, with German clubs also showing interest. However, the striker is said to be strongly inclined to remain in England.

 

Romano stated, “Chelsea or Man United is the plan. There’s German interest, yes, but Delap really wants to stay in the Premier League.”

 

Both Chelsea and United are reportedly waiting on their European qualification status, which could influence the investment they make in a striker.

 

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also exploring backup options. Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy, who has scored 29 goals this season—including 13 in the Champions League—is reportedly available via a release clause that several clubs, including Chelsea, can activate.

 

Delap is also high on Everton’s radar, but with Chelsea and United capable of offering more competitive wages and potential Champions League football, the Toffees may find it difficult to compete.
