Manchester United endured their first defeat of the Premier League season against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils had a mixed performance in the final third and ultimately lost 2-1 after a stoppage-time goal from Joao Pedro.

Despite the loss, there were some positives to take away. Amad Diallo missed a great chance in the first half but redeemed himself with the equaliser.

Noussair Mazraoui continued to impress at right-back, providing the assist for Diallo’s deflected goal at the hour mark.

In addition to these performances, Diogo Dalot stood out with a strong showing at left-back. The 25-year-old was arguably the club’s man of the match.

He had 81 touches, maintained a 90% passing accuracy, and won six ground and aerial duels, along with 100% of his tackles (2/2).

Dalot was unfortunate not to record an assist after delivering a perfect left-footed cross to Diallo, who missed the opportunity in the box.

The £30 million-rated player also made an outstanding goal-line clearance when Brighton was leading 1-0.

Dalot was nearly flawless throughout the match, except for one crucial moment. He was absent in stoppage time, allowing Pedro to have an uncontested shot in the box.

This marks United’s fifth defeat in six league encounters with Brighton, but they must quickly move past this setback with a critical derby approaching.
