Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk has clarified that there’s no bad blood between him and Andy Robertson after their heated exchange during the 2-1 win over West Ham United on Sunday.

The Reds had to battle for the victory at Anfield, with Luis Diaz opening the scoring in the first half. However, a miscommunication between Van Dijk and Robertson led to an unfortunate own goal by the Scottish defender, giving West Ham an equaliser. Robertson was visibly frustrated and exchanged words with Van Dijk, though the Dutch defender later made amends by scoring the decisive goal with a powerful header.

Speaking after the match, Van Dijk emphasized their strong bond, stating, “Robbo and I are like brothers. We’ve been through a lot together, and this kind of thing happens in football. Thankfully, we secured the win.”

His goal not only sealed the three points but also served as a reminder of his key role in the team. Meanwhile, discussions about Van Dijk’s contract renewal continue, with Mohamed Salah also encouraging him to extend his stay.
