Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, though a deal is not yet advanced, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Sancho, who is also a target for Barcelona, spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, aiding the German side in reaching the Champions League final. The England forward scored two goals and provided two assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances and is now considering his next move.

Staying at Old Trafford seems unlikely, with several potential suitors looking to sign the 24-year-old permanently. Romano reports that Juventus are particularly interested and are expected to pursue him aggressively, although negotiations have not progressed significantly yet.

Romano: Juventus ‘Appreciate’ Sancho

The winger impressed during Dortmund’s Champions League run.

After becoming one of Europe’s most sought-after talents during his first stint at Dortmund, where he scored 50 goals in 137 appearances, Manchester United secured Jadon Sancho in a landmark £73 million deal in 2021. However, the pressure of this price tag and instability at Old Trafford led to two underwhelming seasons for Sancho, culminating in a fallout with Erik ten Hag.

Despite this, a successful six-month loan at Dortmund has rejuvenated Sancho’s reputation, attracting significant interest from top European clubs. Once described by Sir Alex Ferguson as ‘extremely dangerous’, Sancho’s technical skills are highly appealing to elite teams.

In a live transfer update show, Fabrizio Romano provided insights into the interest in Sancho:

“Sancho – Juve, Barca, at the moment. Nothing is imminent for Sancho, but I can confirm that Juventus appreciate the player. Maybe some of you remember that at the end of November last year, I told you about Juventus’ interest in Sancho before Borussia Dortmund appeared on the scene.

“And now, I can tell you that Juventus’ interest is still there, so he’s still one of the players they appreciate, but at the moment, it’s still not an advanced negotiation between Sancho and Juve or Juve and Manchester United.”

While a transfer deal is still far from being finalized, Juventus hopes to acquire Sancho for a significantly lower fee than what Manchester United paid. The club aims to bolster its wide attacking options, as Federico Chiesa has struggled with injuries and Kenan Yildiz is still developing at just 19.

With Sancho expected to leave and Marcus Rashford reportedly “ready to be sold,” INEOS is keen to enhance their offensive lineup further. Manchester United are said to be in “advanced talks” to sign Joshua Zirkzee for €40 million, with the player expected to compete with Rasmus Hojlund.

Zirkzee might not be the only attacking addition this summer, as the club plans to bring in wide recruits. United had attempted to “hijack” Michael Olise’s move to Bayern Munich, but that now seems unlikely. Additionally, the club is reportedly prepared to offer £50 million for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, who scored a hat-trick in this year’s Europa League final.
