Harry Redknapp has disclosed who he believes Manchester United truly desire as their next manager.

 

The Red Devils are still deliberating on whether to retain Erik ten Hag.

While it appeared likely that the Dutchman would be dismissed, United’s FA Cup victory at Wembley has slightly improved his chances of staying.

**Pochettino or Southgate – Who is Better for Manchester United?**

 

Manchester United must make the right choice if they decide to part ways with Ten Hag. Both Mauricio Pochettino and Gareth Southgate have been linked to the managerial position at Old Trafford, and they may be the top contenders on INEOS’ shortlist.

 

Between the two, the decision seems clear. Pochettino has achieved significantly more success at the club level, notably helping his team finish sixth in the 2023/24 season, above Manchester United, despite a poor start to the campaign.

 

In contrast, Southgate, praised by Roy Keane as “brilliant,” recently led England in another disappointing performance, this time against Iceland, ranked 72nd by FIFA.

 

Pochettino appears to be a better fit for Manchester United, though Redknapp and others believe Southgate might ultimately be chosen.
