Mason Greenwood, the Manchester United forward, is currently on loan at Getafe for the season.

On Sunday, Mason Greenwood assisted two goals for Getafe in their comeback victory against Celta Vigo, showcasing his talent and sending a clear message to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The Manchester United loanee’s departure from Old Trafford was aimed at securing a permanent move elsewhere, and his impressive performances in Spain may make it difficult for United’s decision-makers to overlook him.

Greenwood’s recent performances for Getafe have been remarkable, highlighted by his two assists in their 3-2 victory over Vigo.

The English forward appeared to score a second goal himself, but Jaime Mata ensured it found the net from close range.

Despite Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tadeo Allende’s goals leveling the match at 2-2 late on, Greenwood delivered a crucial cross in the 89th minute, allowing Mata to score and securing a thrilling win for Getafe.

With six assists and five goals in La Liga, Greenwood’s contributions have helped lift Getafe into the top half of the table.

His outstanding form has even attracted interest from Barcelona, setting the stage for a significant decision for Greenwood and Ratcliffe in the upcoming summer.

It was widely anticipated that if there was interest in Greenwood, he would depart Manchester United permanently following the club’s announcement that, despite the charges against him being dropped, he would be moving on.

However, with Jim Ratcliffe now at the helm and his acquisition of 25 percent of the club still pending approval, there is a possibility that the previous decision may be reconsidered.

According to The Sun, Greenwood’s situation has been identified as a top priority by Ratcliffe.

Given United’s financial constraints under Financial Fair Play regulations, Greenwood could be seen as a valuable asset for the club, attracting interest from Barcelona, AC Milan, and Saudi Arabia, potentially commanding a substantial transfer fee.

Greenwood could potentially address Manchester United’s scoring deficiencies. Among teams in the top half of the Premier League table, United has recorded one of the lowest goal tallies, with Erik ten Hag’s side scoring only 33 goals in their initial 24 matches.

The absence of effective attacking options on the right flank has been particularly notable, with Antony failing to meet expectations and Jadon Sancho being loaned out to Borussia Dortmund. Greenwood has the potential to fill this void, a role recently occupied by Alejandro Garnacho.

While Ratcliffe’s decision to reintegrate Greenwood would represent a significant reversal, his impressive performances for Getafe, highlighted by his pivotal assists against Vigo, could prompt reconsideration from the decision-makers at Old Trafford.
