Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to become the new manager for a leading European football club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been without a managerial role since parting ways with Manchester United in November 2021, is currently in discussions with Besiktas regarding the possibility of becoming their new manager following the departure of Riza Calimbay.

The Turkish club, currently facing challenges in the Super Lig, has initiated negotiations with Solskjaer, signaling a potential return to management for the Norwegian.

Besiktas is currently in a difficult situation, sitting fifth in the Super Lig table and experiencing a winless streak in domestic competitions this month.

Despite recent setbacks, negotiations with Solskjaer are seen as a move to bring fresh leadership to the club.

Solskjaer began his managerial career with Manchester United’s Under-21 side in 2008 before coaching Molde in Norway. After a brief stint at Cardiff City in 2014, he returned to Molde in 2015.

His tenure at Manchester United started in December 2018, initially as a caretaker manager and later as the permanent manager in March 2019.

Known for his man-management skills, Solskjaer faced criticism for not securing trophies during his time at Manchester United. After a high-profile summer in 2021, he left the club early in the season, and Erik ten Hag was appointed as the permanent manager in April 2022.

Now in talks with Besiktas, Solskjaer may find himself back in the managerial role, potentially bringing his experience and coaching expertise to the Super Lig.
