“The more successful we become” – Brighton CEO reflects on the challenging reality that accompanies their achievements.

Brighton & Hove Albion CEO Paul Barber has acknowledged the club’s readiness for the potential departure of head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Despite De Zerbi’s substantial impact on the team’s success, the acknowledgment reflects an awareness of the dynamic nature of managerial positions in football, particularly within a club operating under a specific model like the Seagulls.

Barber stated, “Good players and good staff will always be looked at by competitors, and we’re prepared for that, we’re realistic about that, and we try to plan for those eventualities.”

De Zerbi’s achievements with Brighton have led to speculation linking him with top European clubs.

Brighton’s CEO acknowledged to talkSPORT, “The biggest conundrum with our model is the better we do, the more vulnerable we become because people look at what we’re doing, how we’re doing it, the people who are doing it for us, and they want them.”

Under Roberto De Zerbi’s management, Brighton has achieved 26 victories, 12 draws, and 18 defeats in the 56 games he has overseen.

The club currently occupies the eighth position in the Premier League, one point behind seventh-placed Newcastle United and seven points away from the top four.
