The Jadon Sancho situation at Manchester United remains unresolved, and according to a pundit on TalkSPORT, Erik ten Hag is handling the winger too severely.
The 23-year-old has been excluded from all first-team activities, and the most recent report indicates that Sancho has also been removed from the team’s WhatsApp group.
This situation has been ongoing since the beginning of September, following United’s defeat to Arsenal, where the winger essentially accused Ten Hag of lying when the Man United manager stated that he was omitted from the squad to face Arsenal due to poor training.
Sancho is anticipated to depart Old Trafford in January, but for the time being, TalkSPORT pundit Andy Townsend believes the player is facing excessive treatment.
A former Premier League footballer believes that the handling of Sancho’s situation at Manchester United has become excessive.
Addressing the recent reports about Sancho and the WhatsApp group on talkSPORT, Townsend commented, “It’s gone to an extreme.
“I don’t condone what Jadon Sancho did, and I still hold that view. However, it’s reaching a point where you might as well tell the kid, ‘don’t even bother showing up.’ It’s absurd.”
Upon learning that the player is currently required to have lunch separately from the first team, the former footballer remarked, “I’m genuinely amazed that such a severe punishment is allowed.”
“I’m astonished that someone from the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) hasn’t raised concerns,” he continued.
“It’s one thing not to be fond of him or not wanting him around, but you can’t simply exile the guy from one side of the club to the other due to an apparent disagreement,” he added. “I believe it has gone too far at this point.”
Ten Hag as far as I’m concerned has no option but to get him out of the club. Sancho has previous with his behaviour he’s an overpaid spoilt brat who never ever should be aloud to wear the shirt.
