Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi recently shared his lifelong dream of playing at Liverpool’s Anfield.

Although he signed with Liverpool in 2015, he faced work permit issues that prevented him from playing for his dream club.

Liverpool loaned him to various European clubs until 2021 when he was permanently transferred to Union Berlin.

Awoniyi expressed his long-standing desire to play for Liverpool, even if it meant facing them while playing for another team.

He reflected on his journey, stating,

“Last season, playing at Anfield was a dream come true. Of course, I probably dreamed of playing there for Liverpool before I left, so playing there against them, it was a mixed feeling, I would say!”

Currently, Liverpool boasts a strong array of attacking options with players such as Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo all at their disposal, and all of them are in excellent form.
