“Terminate their deals!” 😳 Jamie Carragher demands SACKINGS at Man United after latest defensive disaster!
MANCHESTER — Jamie Carragher has launched a scathing attack on Manchester United’s recruitment board following another disastrous defensive display, calling for immediate executive dismissals and demanding that two first-choice defenders be banished from the first-team squad.
Speaking during a fiery post-match analysis on Monday Night Football, the former Liverpool defender did not hold back after United’s latest defensive collapse. The Red Devils have endured a miserable start to the campaign under head coach Michael Carrick, winning just one game so far and conceding goals at a rate that leaves them with the worst defensive record among the Premier League’s top six contenders.
Carragher laid the blame squarely on the club’s hierarchy and sporting recruitment strategy, pointing to hundreds of millions spent on defensive reinforcements that have failed to stabilize Old Trafford.
> “How much more money can this club throw down the drain? You spend tens of millions on defenders and somehow end up with the worst backline in the top six,” Carragher declared.
> “The sporting director who approved these two signings needs to be relieved of his duties tonight. And as for these two defenders starting every week? Terminate their deals or put them in the reserves. They wouldn’t even make the bench in a relegation battle!”

A “Vicious Circle” of Spending
Carragher’s rant builds on escalating concerns over Manchester United’s recruitment model. Over recent transfer windows, the club has poured massive sums into revamping its backline, yet individual errors, a lack of defensive structure, and poor communication continue to plague the squad.
United’s ongoing defensive crisis has left them languishing in the bottom half of the table, turning up the heat on both the coaching staff and the board. With pressure mounting from supporters and pundits alike, the club’s leadership faces tough decisions ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window regarding both its executive setup and playing squad.
