In an emotional post-match press conference at the Emirates Stadium following Arsenal’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Chelsea, manager Mikel Arteta was overcome with emotion, weeping openly before assembled journalists.

The Arsenal manager, visible through tears that at times made it difficult for him to speak, delivered a candid address regarding a behind-the-scenes transfer decision involving one of his squad members.

“I am standing here today as an ashamed man,” Arteta said, pausing repeatedly to compose himself. “Two weeks ago, I signed the papers to sell him because I did not believe in his dream. He came to my office yesterday crying and begged me, ‘Boss, give me just twenty minutes against Chelsea to prove my love for this club.’ When he performed so well today, I fell on my knees in front of him in the dressing room and begged him for forgiveness.”

The manager concluded his remarks by making a public commitment regarding the player’s future at the club.

“As long as I am the manager of Arsenal, he will start every single match, and I am giving him a new ten-year contract tonight,” Arteta added.
