In a recent discussion, Jones expressed high praise for former academy player Álvaro Carreras, who now features for Real Madrid. When asked about his experience with the defender at United, Jones repeatedly described him as an “incredible” talent.

He acknowledged surprise at Carreras reaching his current elite level, recalling that even a loan spell at Preston North End did not guarantee him regular starts.
