Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has responded sharply to Liverpool boss Arne Slot after being accused of relying on “long balls” and a “low block” during last Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Anfield. The win marked United’s first triumph at Liverpool since 2016, but Slot’s post-match remarks drew attention to their defensive setup rather than the result itself.

Although Slot later clarified on Friday that his comments were intended as a compliment, Amorim didn’t hold back in his reply, dismissing the need for outside opinions on his team’s style of play.

Addressing the issue, Amorim stated:
“I’m not concerned about what Slot or anyone else says about how we play. I can look at our own performance and recognise where we can improve. Of course, we must be better in possession, and we’ll work on that, but sometimes you have to adapt to the circumstances of a match. I don’t need anyone else to assess my team — I can do that myself.”
