Although Isak remains a Newcastle player and has yet to complete a move, he has reportedly opted out of the Magpies’ pre-season tour, reinforcing claims that he is preparing for a switch to Anfield. Romano stated on his YouTube channel that Isak’s absence from Newcastle’s tour strongly implies that a contract with Liverpool is already agreed upon. According to him, the agreement on personal terms is “absolutely obvious.”

 

Romano emphasized that a player typically would not take such steps unless they had a deal in place with another club. “Isak wants Liverpool. I’ve been saying that for two weeks,” Romano explained. “The player wouldn’t skip training or pre-season unless a move was lined up. The contract isn’t an obstacle.”

 

As for salary expectations, The Times reported that Isak is seeking a weekly wage of approximately £300,000. While that figure may exceed Newcastle’s financial limitations, Liverpool are apparently willing to meet those demands.

 

If the deal goes through, Liverpool would be committing well over £120 million in total—adding to a summer of major investment.
