Chelsea Reportedly Set Nicolas Jackson’s Transfer Value as Newcastle Show Interest

A recent report from Kieran Gill has brought attention to Nicolas Jackson’s future at Chelsea, especially with Newcastle United reportedly eyeing the striker. Since the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, Jackson’s time on the pitch has been limited—first due to suspension, then being benched. With competition ahead of him, a summer departure could be on the cards if the right offer comes in.

While Gill didn’t specify a transfer fee, another journalist, Mark Douglas, claims that Chelsea would consider selling Jackson for around £80 million. Newcastle, however, are hoping to negotiate that down to closer to £65 million. Either figure would still represent a significant profit for Chelsea, who signed Jackson from Villarreal for approximately £32 million.

Despite facing some criticism, Jackson remains a dynamic forward with impressive attributes. Known for his high pressing and decent technical ability, he’s shown he can dribble, pass, and find the back of the net when needed. At just 24 years old, he’s still in the early stages of his career and has time to grow further in the Premier League.

Following their failed attempt to land Hugo Ekitike—who joined Liverpool—Newcastle are keen to bolster their attack. Jackson, with 24 goals in 65 league matches, has proven his worth at Chelsea, even if he hasn’t fully won over the fanbase.

Given his age, skill set, and goal-scoring record, the reported £80 million asking price isn’t far-fetched. He’s a proven talent in a top league, and in a market where untested players can go for even more, Jackson could be seen as a worthy investment for clubs like Newcastle.
