Atlético Madrid Closing In on Renato Veiga as Talks Progress with Chelsea
Atlético Madrid are stepping up their efforts to sign Chelsea’s Renato Veiga. According to Mundo Deportivo, the 21-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Spanish club, leaving negotiations between Atlético and Chelsea as the next step.
Marca reports that the defender is edging closer to a move to Madrid, with discussions said to be progressing well, though the deal is not yet finalized.
Veiga signed with Chelsea last year and was loaned to Juventus in January. His experience with top-tier clubs and ability to play multiple roles have caught the attention of Diego Simeone’s team.
The Portuguese talent is not central to Enzo Maresca’s squad plans, and Chelsea appear willing to let him leave this summer.
Given the positive transfer history between Chelsea and Atlético — including Joao Félix’s move to London and Conor Gallagher going the other way — their strong working relationship could help facilitate this deal.
However, Marca highlights that flexible payment conditions from Chelsea, particularly regarding installment structure, will be key in allowing the transfer to go through.
