“I’m honored that a big club like Chelsea is trying to sign me but I’m only interested in joining them” – This is according an ace player as Chelsea have been firmly turned down by a highly rated forward who scored 17 goals last season, with the player’s next destination already becoming evident.

Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade has attracted attention from Chelsea and other clubs in recent weeks, but the promising forward has declined an offer from Enzo Maresca’s side.

At 23 years old, Woltemade is considered one of Germany’s most exciting young players, having recorded 17 goals and three assists last season, typically operating as a second striker. Standing at an imposing 6ft 6in, he impressed during the U21 European Championship, scoring six goals and helping Germany reach the final. He has also earned two senior international caps and is expected to continue developing as he gains experience.

However, Chelsea will not be his next destination. According to Bild journalist Julian Agarde, Woltemade has chosen Bayern Munich and turned down approaches from both Chelsea and Napoli.

“Nick Woltemade will transfer from VfB Stuttgart to FC Bayern,” Agarde shared on X (formerly Twitter). “He rejected Chelsea and Napoli after the U21 European Championship, making it clear to Stuttgart that his full focus is on Bayern, a move he has expressed a strong desire for.”

Chelsea Turn Attention Elsewhere

TEAMtalk previously reported that Chelsea had opened dialogue with both Stuttgart and Woltemade’s representatives, with Everton also expressing interest earlier in the year. Despite Stuttgart’s hope to retain the player and even offer him an improved contract, Woltemade has no intention of renewing and is instead prioritizing a move to the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern Munich have already reached a verbal agreement with the player, and are now working to finalize a transfer fee with Stuttgart.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have now shifted their sights to Brighton forward João Pedro. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Blues are pushing to complete a deal before the Club World Cup registration deadline on July 3.

“Chelsea haven’t ruled out signing João Pedro before the Club World Cup deadline,” Jacobs posted. “Talks with Brighton are ongoing, and the player is open to the move. Although Chelsea are prepared to wait, they are actively trying to wrap things up in time for him to travel to America with the squad.”

Newcastle are also reportedly monitoring Pedro, though Brighton have already rejected two offers exceeding £50 million.

As Woltemade closes in on a move to Bayern, Chelsea are swiftly moving to secure alternatives for their attacking reinforcements.
