Arsenal fans are so wrong about Noni Madueke as transfer is now agreed with Chelsea

Noni Madueke appears set to become the latest player to make a direct switch from Chelsea to Arsenal.

The winger has been at the center of one of this summer’s most discussed transfer stories, even while representing Chelsea in the Club World Cup held in the United States. Throughout that time, the 23-year-old has been consistently linked with a potential move to the Gunners.

Reports indicate that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta personally contacted Madueke’s representatives to present the idea of joining the Emirates. It’s now believed that Madueke has agreed to a five-year contract with Arsenal, and a breakthrough between the clubs has brought the deal close to completion.

According to Fabrizio Romano via X, Arsenal have now secured an agreement with Chelsea worth over £50 million, including add-ons, to bring Madueke to North London.

Despite the club’s progress on the deal, some Arsenal fans have voiced their dissatisfaction online. Many seem unconvinced about bringing in the England international, and the criticism has grown louder in recent weeks. A trending hashtag, #NoToMadueke, even led to the creation of a petition opposing the move, which has already gained over 4,000 signatures. While that reaction may seem extreme, it appears to represent only a vocal minority.

Criticism aside, Madueke is a player with undeniable talent and promise. Although opinions are divided among Chelsea fans as well, his performances when in form show he’s capable of making a real impact. His pace, left-footed finesse, and attacking flair suggest he could be a valuable addition to Arsenal’s attack.

With 11 goals in the 2024/25 season under Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, Madueke has shown growth, even as the club turns to new recruits like Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens, and Joao Pedro. At Arsenal, he is expected to offer solid competition and cover for Bukayo Saka on the right, and could even challenge Gabriel Martinelli on the left.

If Madueke finds his stride in North London, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him flourish—possibly making Chelsea regret letting him go, just as they did with Mohamed Salah years ago.
