Chelsea have now etched their name into the history books as the first and only club to secure victories in all three major UEFA competitions.

Following their dominant 4-1 victory over Real Betis in Poland on Wednesday, the Blues added the UEFA Conference League to their previous UEFA Champions League and Europa League triumphs — a feat no other club has achieved.

Despite this milestone, Chelsea and manager Enzo Maresca remain focused on strengthening their squad, with discussions already underway to bring in Viktor Gyökeres.

Chelsea Open Talks for Viktor Gyökeres

According to Portuguese outlet Record, Chelsea have recently made an official move to sign the Sporting CP striker. The Lisbon-based club, fresh off their Taca de Portugal final win over Benfica, are reportedly now open to entering negotiations.

Gyökeres had been on Chelsea’s radar, though their interest previously seemed tentative due to uncertainty over Champions League qualification. Now, with a spot in next season’s tournament confirmed, along with their recent European success, the Blues are in a strong position to pursue key targets.

While Juventus and Arsenal are also showing interest in the Swedish international — whose contract includes an €100m (£84m) release clause — Sporting president Frederico Varandas is believed to be willing to entertain offers in the region of €65m (£54m).

Cole Palmer Would Welcome New Arrival

During Chelsea’s Conference League final, Cole Palmer showed visible frustration with teammate Nicolas Jackson, who squandered a golden opportunity to secure the win when the score was 2-1. Jackson overran the ball instead of passing to an open Jadon Sancho, resulting in Palmer’s emotional outburst and a yellow card.

Although Palmer had earlier put Chelsea ahead, the chemistry between him and Jackson has often seemed lacking. Stats from Transfermarkt reveal that Jackson has only netted eight goals assisted by Palmer in 72 games — a relatively modest return.

In contrast, Gyökeres has been in extraordinary form, scoring 97 goals in just 102 appearances for Sporting. If Chelsea manage to secure the prolific forward, Palmer would likely be thrilled at the prospect of partnering with a more clinical striker up front.
