Arsenal suffered a 1-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, with Ousmane Dembele’s first-half goal proving to be the match-winner. PSG now hold a slim advantage heading into the second leg, which will take place at the Parc des Princes next week. Mikel Arteta is confident his team can recover and secure a spot in the final, emphasizing the importance of improving their performance in the return leg.

Arteta commented, “The margins were very narrow, so I don’t think we need a radically different approach. But if we perform better, we hope for a better outcome.”

On the topic of reaching the final, Arteta added, “You have to do something special to earn that right, and Paris is where we’ll have the chance to prove it.”

Meanwhile, reports from Spanish outlet Marca suggest that Real Madrid has identified William Saliba as a key defensive target for next season. The report claims that Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, is keen to bring the French defender to the Santiago Bernabeu. Saliba, however, has previously stated his love for Arsenal, mentioning that playing for the club has been his childhood dream.

In transfer news, Arsenal is reportedly ready to enter negotiations with Viktor Gyokeres’ representatives. The Swedish forward from Sporting Clube de Portugal is attracting attention from multiple top clubs, and Arsenal is preparing to discuss terms with his camp. Arsenal is understood to be one of Gyokeres’ preferred destinations, along with Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, and Bayern Munich.
