Liverpool’s Kirkby training ground was the center of attention on Monday as Arne Slot’s squad returned to training following the international break.

By the time they face Everton on Wednesday, the Reds will have gone 17 days without a match, having played just one Premier League game since February 26. Despite the break, much has unfolded, particularly regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has been at the center of speculation about a potential move to Real Madrid.

Apart from a brief Instagram story shared by Mohamed Salah on Saturday, Alexander-Arnold has remained out of sight since the reports surfaced. However, footage released by Liverpool on Monday showed the right-back reuniting with teammates at the AXA Training Centre.

The 26-year-old, though, remains sidelined due to an ankle injury that is expected to keep him out for a few more weeks. His presence at Kirkby was likely for rehabilitation rather than full training.

Joe Gomez, absent since February 9 due to a hamstring injury sustained in the FA Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle, was also working on his recovery. The defender is making progress and should return before the season concludes.

Liverpool endured further injury concerns over the break, with Alisson and Ryan Gravenberch both returning early from international duty. Gravenberch missed the Netherlands’ matches due to illness, while Alisson was withdrawn from Brazil’s squad after suffering a head injury in a collision with Davinson Sánchez during a win over Colombia.

Fortunately, Alisson has confirmed he is recovering well, and both he and Gravenberch participated in Monday’s training session, making them available for the Merseyside derby. Both were also involved in Liverpool’s dramatic 2-2 draw at Goodison Park earlier in the season.

Meanwhile, Conor Bradley is still unlikely to feature, meaning Jarell Quansah could continue at right-back as he did in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.
