Now, another club icon, Karim Benzema, has hinted at a possible return after retirement. In an interview with Edu Aguirre on “Los Amigos de Edu”, Benzema spoke about his journey at Madrid and his bond with club president Florentino Perez. He revealed that Perez was the first person he called when he decided to leave, explaining his confidence in young stars like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.

 

When asked about returning to Madrid, Benzema expressed his desire to stay close to football and the club:

“When I retire, I want to be close to football. Close to Florentino Perez. Yes, I would return to Real Madrid, why not?”

 

Having joined Madrid in 2009, Benzema became one of the club’s most influential players. While uncertain about becoming a coach, his return in any capacity would be a huge asset to the club — much like Iker Casillas, who now works with the Real Madrid Foundation.
