Vinícius Júnior presents three conditions to Real Madrid for his new contract negotiations.

Earlier this week, reports emerged that Real Madrid reached out to Vinicius Junior’s representatives to inquire about their conditions for a new contract. Now, the club has received their response—one that is unlikely to sit well with President Florentino Perez.

Initially, Real Madrid had planned to discuss a contract extension with Vinicius at the end of the season. The Brazilian had previously declined negotiations in September, believing he could secure a better deal by continuing to prove his worth on the pitch. However, recent developments have accelerated the club’s timeline. The revelation that Vinicius had met with Saudi representatives to explore their interest and contract offer has prompted Real Madrid to act sooner than expected in an effort to retain him.

That said, the club is not willing to meet just any demands, and the conditions presented by Vinicius’ agents may be a sticking point. According to Cadena SER, three key conditions have been put forward. First, Vinicius wants to surpass Kylian Mbappé’s earnings. Mbappé, who joined Real Madrid this summer, signed a contract worth €15 million annually—similar to Vinicius’ current salary—but also received a €40 million signing bonus.

Secondly, Vinicius is seeking a salary exceeding €25 million net per year. Lastly, his representatives expect Real Madrid’s offer to be financially competitive with the one from Saudi Arabia. However, the club reportedly has little interest in meeting these demands at this stage, which increases the likelihood of Vinicius considering a move to Saudi Arabia. It is noted that he would reject an offer of €20 million per year, suggesting that his expectations are significantly higher.

Reports indicate that if Vinicius were to accept a contract in Saudi Arabia, he could earn as much as €1 billion over five years—a figure that would be nearly impossible for Real Madrid to match. While these negotiations are still in their early stages, this could simply be a starting position for Vinicius, who has publicly expressed a desire to remain at the club. Nonetheless, securing a deal that satisfies both parties appears to be a challenging task.
