“I think Ruben Amorim definitely wants to distance himself from the Marcus Rashford narrative, but the issue is that journalists see it as an easy way to pressure him,” Parker stated.

“There’s always an agenda in the media, always someone looking for an angle to criticize him. But the reality is, everyone at the club knows Rashford has moved on—at least for now. There’s no reason for Amorim to be answering questions about a player who isn’t even part of his squad for the season.”

Parker anticipates that Amorim will soon be asked about Rashford’s display in Aston Villa’s recent match against Tottenham, highlighting how the media fixates on creating controversy.

“If I, as an outsider, can already predict the line of questioning coming his way, imagine what Amorim himself is expecting. The right response? Direct them to Unai Emery. Rashford is now under Villa’s guidance, and Amorim’s focus should be on his current squad,” Parker added.

However, Parker also acknowledges the relentless nature of managing Manchester United. “When things aren’t going well, people will always find ways to criticize you. That’s just part of the job.”
