Manchester United legend Roy Keane has hinted that Marcus Rashford might benefit from leaving Old Trafford following his omission from the squad for the Manchester derby against City.

Rashford, who has been a regular feature in United’s squads this season, was notably absent alongside Alejandro Garnacho for the crucial clash. This absence comes amid a dip in form for the forward, who faced boos from sections of the away fans during United’s recent Europa League match.

Ruben Amorim, addressing the decision, explained that it was purely a selection choice rather than a disciplinary issue. However, Keane believes Rashford may need a fresh start elsewhere.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday, Keane said:

“Look at his body language the other night when he came off in Europe. A new manager and staff will notice these small details. Clearly, they’ve assessed his behavior and decided it’s not good enough. Talent alone isn’t sufficient, especially at a club like United.”

Keane suggested a transfer might be in Rashford’s best interest, saying:
“There’s been talk of a move for months, and I think a fresh challenge would benefit him. He’s been at United for a long time and achieved a lot, but over the past year or two, his attitude hasn’t been right. Sometimes, it’s better for both parties to part ways.”
