“The best thing for your football career is to move away from Old Trafford. It is obvious that you are not happy at Manchester United.” – This is according to Paul Gascoigne as he gives Marcus Rashford an “unbelievable” transfer ultimatum amid doubts about his future at Manchester United, which has grown increasingly uncertain.

Football icon Paul Gascoigne has made a bold suggestion to Marcus Rashford, advising the Manchester United forward to consider a move abroad to revive his career.
The 26-year-old has struggled at Old Trafford since his remarkable 30-goal season in 2022/23, managing only eight goals in the following campaign.
Although he displayed his skills in a recent 3-3 Europa League draw with FC Porto, Rashford’s form has been erratic.
He was benched for the match against Crystal Palace and faced criticism for his performances against Twente and Tottenham.
Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly reigniting their interest in Marcus Rashford after initial talks earlier this year, potentially providing the forward with a new opportunity. Paul Gascoigne believes that a move abroad could benefit the England international.
Speaking to SportsCasting, Gascoigne expressed his view on Rashford’s situation at Manchester United, saying, “Yes, definitely, I think it’s the right choice.” He added, “I love Rashford, he’s an incredible player, but he just doesn’t seem to care. Even when he scores, he doesn’t look happy, so something is clearly off. If that’s the case, it’s best to move on.”
Gascoigne continued, “For Rashford, it seems like playing in England doesn’t bring him joy. Plenty of good clubs would be interested in him. Going to Italy could really shake things up for him.”
Gascoigne reminisced about his own experience in Serie A, suggesting that it could be beneficial for Rashford. “It definitely shook me up. I remember when I joined Lazio—it was quite a moment,” he recalled.
“I told my dad, ‘Let’s go and watch them train for a week first.’ When I saw the warm-up, I thought, ‘Wow, that looks like an intense training session.’ But the coach said, ‘That’s just the warm-up.’ I almost started crying and told my dad, ‘There’s no way I can do that. Absolutely no way.’ It involved around 20 laps, just for the warm-up, followed by half an hour of various stretches.”
Gascoigne recalled his father’s reaction, saying, “My dad told me, ‘Well, you better get used to it because I’ve already found a villa and I’m moving in.’ Going abroad would definitely shake Rashford up a bit.”
