Arne Slot prepares to lead Liverpool in his first match against arch-rivals Manchester United today at 16:00 BST.

The Reds are heading to Old Trafford with the goal of extending their perfect start to the Premier League season, following back-to-back 2-0 wins over Ipswich and Brentford.

In contrast, Manchester United is coming off a 2-1 loss to Brighton last weekend, though they did secure a late 1-0 victory against Fulham on the season’s opening day.

Despite United’s inconsistent form, Liverpool remains cautious, especially after experiencing two defeats at Old Trafford last season.

Fortunately for Slot, he has nearly a full squad to choose from, with Curtis Jones being the only absentee due to an injury that sidelined him from training earlier in the week and the Brentford match.

Given the squad depth, Slot will need to decide which players to leave out for today’s game, based on Friday’s training session at the AXA Training Centre. It’s expected that third-choice goalkeeper Vítězslav Jaroš may be among those excluded.

Slot has also indicated that Federico Chiesa is unlikely to participate in today’s match. The winger, who recently joined Liverpool from Juventus for £10 million, is still working on regaining full fitness after being out of action at his former club.

Tyler Morton might also miss out. Despite interest from Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, and Atalanta, Morton remained at Anfield after spending the last two seasons on loan at Blackburn and Hull City. With Stefan Bajcetic loaned to Red Bull Salzburg, Morton stayed with Liverpool but may travel as the 21st man today.

Trey Nyoni, a highly-rated 17-year-old, might also not be included in today’s squad. Although Nyoni impressed Slot during pre-season and trained with the first team on Friday, his inclusion in the final lineup is uncertain.

Liverpool’s full squad available for selection against Manchester United includes:

**Goalkeepers:** Alisson, Kelleher, Jaroš.

**Defenders:** Alexander-Arnold, Bradley, van Dijk, Konaté, Quansah, Gomez, Robertson, Tsimikas.

**Midfielders:** Endo, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Elliott, Morton, Nyoni.

**Forwards:** Jota, Núñez, Díaz, Gakpo, Chiesa.
