Jadon Sancho appears to be on the verge of leaving Manchester United for good before the transfer window closes.

Reports suggest that United has reached an agreement with Juventus, starting with a loan move to Turin that includes an obligation to buy.

Despite Jadon Sancho’s reconciliation with Erik ten Hag after last year’s disagreement, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos group are still eager to part ways with the 24-year-old. With Facundo Pellistri also moving to Panathinaikos, Manchester United may find themselves lacking a right-winger in the coming seasons, aside from Amad Diallo.

While a replacement could be signed, there is little urgency for a winger in the final hours of the transfer window. This is partly due to the emergence of an academy graduate who seems destined to become Ten Hag’s newest star at Old Trafford.

Despite being only 17 years old, the winger is considered one of the most promising talents in the youth system, and rightfully so.

He has excelled at every age level he’s played in. Most notably, he had a brilliant start with the under-18s last season, until an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign.

But with Lacey seemingly back for United this season and a noticeable shortage of right-wingers, could we see him break through to the first team?

Over the last two seasons, we’ve seen Ten Hag place his trust in several academy graduates, many of whom have thrived under the spotlight.

Players like Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Ethan Wheatley have shown that they’re both old enough and good enough, so Lacey could well be the next to follow in their footsteps.

Of course, he’ll need some time in the academy to fully recover from his long-term injury, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Lacey becomes the next young attacking talent to be thrust into the spotlight at Old Trafford.
