Burnley has successfully completed a permanent transfer for Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United, shifting from an initial loan arrangement with an obligation to buy to a full immediate transfer. The deal followed Hannibal’s successful medical examination, confirming his readiness to join Burnley.

The 21-year-old midfielder originally joined Manchester United from AS Monaco in 2019 with high expectations but struggled to secure a regular spot in the senior team. Under Erik ten Hag, his opportunities were limited, leading to loan spells at Birmingham City and Sevilla, neither of which secured him a long-term role at Old Trafford.

Despite being considered for the squad during United’s pre-season tour, Hannibal was left out of the matchday squads at the start of the Premier League season, indicating that his future was away from Manchester United. The transfer to Burnley, valued at around €9 million, provides Hannibal with a fresh start and an opportunity to prove himself in a new setting.

For Burnley, acquiring Hannibal represents a significant addition to their midfield, bringing in a player with potential from a high-profile club. This move not only offers Hannibal a chance to showcase his talents but also signals Burnley’s intent to strengthen their squad and compete effectively in the Premier League.
