Football Insider reports that Liverpool are looking to sign a high-profile winger before the transfer deadline and are preparing to approach Napoli for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Italian club values Kvaratskhelia at approximately £84.6 million (€100 million), which is higher than the £70 million previously reported.

Kvaratskhelia, a 23-year-old Georgian, is regarded as one of Europe’s top wingers. He has scored 23 goals and provided 21 assists in 69 Serie A matches over the past two seasons and played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title win in the 2022-23 season. Recently, he also impressed at the European Championships, scoring against Portugal.

Liverpool currently have a stable attacking lineup, so it might be wiser for them to retain Luis Diaz rather than replacing him with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia late in the transfer window, especially given Kvaratskhelia’s lack of Premier League experience.

Instead, Arne Slot’s team should focus on strengthening their defense and midfield if funds permit. With the potential to trigger Martin Zubimendi’s £51 million release clause and money gained from player sales, they have the financial capacity to enhance these areas before the transfer window closes.

What do you think—should Liverpool invest £84.6 million in Kvaratskhelia?
