Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that center-back Victor Lindelof will miss the upcoming match against Brighton due to an injury.

The Red Devils began their Premier League campaign with a win against Fulham, secured by a late goal from new signing Joshua Zirkzee, earning them three points.

However, ten Hag revealed that Lindelof is dealing with a toe issue and will be unavailable for Saturday’s game against Brighton.

The manager stated on the official Manchester United website, “There is no confusion; he has an issue with his toe. Hopefully, he can return quickly, but he won’t be available for the weekend.”

This adds to United’s ongoing injury concerns, continuing their streak of bad luck with player fitness.

Manchester United are currently dealing with fitness issues affecting several key players, including Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Rasmus Hojlund.

Left-back Tyrell Malacia has also been struggling with long-term fitness problems, while Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount faced performance challenges last season due to recurring injuries.

Despite these setbacks, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has options in the center-back position, even with Victor Lindelof unavailable for the Brighton match.

He can call upon Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, or Matthijs de Ligt to fill the role. The Red Devils have strengthened their squad with smart signings this summer, giving them greater depth and quality compared to last season.

As they prepare to face Brighton, who started their season with a 3-0 win over Everton, Manchester United will aim to maintain their perfect start to the campaign.

Joshua Zirkzee, who scored the decisive goal against Fulham, is expected to make his first start for the club.
