He is currently not comfortable at Anfield and he seems ready to leave if he is given the opportunity” – Dean Saunders confirms that Liverpool star that is linked to leave this summer is mostly to likely to depart.

Former Liverpool player Dean Saunders is concerned about the situation at Liverpool.

With the Premier League season set to begin this weekend, the Reds have yet to make any new signings this summer. Arne Slot’s team will kick off their Premier League campaign against newly promoted Ipswich Town, but the Dutch manager won’t have the option of fielding a new signing.

The Merseyside club has been quiet throughout the summer transfer window, despite nearing a deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

Saunders has expressed his worries about Liverpool’s transfer activity and suggested that a big-name player could leave the club soon.

Liverpool still hasn’t finalized the contracts for Virgil Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, which Saunders finds concerning.

“What worries me, and it’s a massive concern,” the pundit told TalkSPORT.

“The four best players are Alisson, Van Dijk, Salah, and Trent. They are world-class and make the rest of the squad really good. If you lose those four players, then Liverpool are in big trouble.”

“Don’t be surprised if you see Trent playing for Bayern Munich or Real Madrid soon,” Saunders warns. “Or, I wouldn’t be shocked if the Saudis offered him an enormous sum of money. The same goes for Van Dijk, who’s in his thirties.

“As for Salah, is he still as motivated as he used to be? Or is he thinking, ‘I could end up in Saudi Arabia with a three-year contract worth about two billion pounds?’”

Liverpool fans are disappointed with the club.

Saunders’ comments would understandably worry Liverpool fans, especially since, after Jurgen Klopp’s departure, all four of these key players have been linked with moves away from the club.

While Alisson’s contract isn’t a concern, the club should have addressed the contract situations of the other players, given their importance to the team.

Liverpool fans are anxious not only about their team’s ability to compete for trophies this season but also about the future of some of their best players. They still have some time to make moves in the transfer window, but the clock is ticking.
