Sturm Graz has been greatly impressed by the performance of Arsenal striker Mika Biereth during his loan spell and is keen to secure his permanent transfer this summer.

Biereth joined Sturm Graz in January after ending his previous loan stint at Motherwell prematurely. The 21-year-old has made a strong start in Austria, scoring two goals in his first four appearances.

While Sturm Graz’s loan agreement with Arsenal does not include an option to buy, the club remains eager to retain Biereth’s services beyond the current season.

Andreas Schicker, the sporting director of Sturm Graz, expressed satisfaction with Biereth’s integration into the team despite his late arrival and unfamiliarity with their playing style.

He emphasized the positive reception from teammates and Biereth’s apparent contentment at the club.

Despite Arsenal’s reluctance to include a buy option, Sturm Graz is exploring avenues to extend Biereth’s stay beyond the summer.

Schicker highlighted the club’s focus on maximizing Biereth’s attacking prowess for the remainder of the season while leaving open the possibility of a longer-term arrangement.

Biereth had already captured Sturm Graz’s attention during his time with Arsenal’s Under-21 squad and subsequent loan spells in the Netherlands and Scotland.

Continuous communication with Biereth’s representatives facilitated a swift agreement once Sturm Graz faced an injury setback with their striker Seedy Jatta in January.
