“We began leaving spaces in the middle, lost our tightness and aggression, and Liverpool is a team that doesn’t lose this intensity. They play with high intensity for 100 minutes, and if you don’t match them, it’s difficult.
“We needed fresh legs, especially after conceding, as they were starting to win duels in the middle. However, we maintained the same level, and it was not good enough to compete against Liverpool.”
After falling behind, Bournemouth found themselves vulnerable as they sought to equalize, allowing Liverpool to exploit the openings and score four times, despite not displaying their usual scintillating form.
Asked to compare the teams contending for the Premier League title this season, Iraola mentioned, “City, Arsenal, Liverpool… they have been really good against us.
We have had chances, but in the end, they are clinical. Whenever you make a mistake, they make you pay.”
