A 19-year-old Chelsea prospect confirms his return, marking the end of a period in which he hasn’t featured for the Blues since August due a serious controversial issue involving him.

A Chelsea youth player, Diego Moreira, has announced on social media that he is once again eligible for selection at Stamford Bridge after returning from his loan spell in France.

Diego Moreira had initially spent the early part of the season on loan with Lyon. Despite delivering some impressive performances, Lyon faced significant challenges during that period.

Moreira even managed to temporarily secure a spot ahead of former Chelsea transfer target Rayan Cherki. However, his playing time diminished, resembling the fate of other Chelsea loan players experiencing a less-than-ideal season.

Chelsea has already recalled players like Andrey Santos, Cesare Casadei, and David Datro Fofana from their loan spells, with the latter moving to Burnley.

Moreira has now confirmed on Instagram that his time at Lyon has concluded, suggesting he might join the list of players returning to Chelsea.

He expressed, “Lyon supporters, today marks the end of my loan with OL. I want to thank you for your warm welcome since the first day, the first match, and the initial steps at Groupama.

These memories will forever be etched in my mind. I extend my best wishes to the players and supporters for achieving their goals in the second part of the season.”

It remains uncertain what impact the young player might have on the Chelsea side for the remainder of the season if he stays in West London.

He made his debut for the club in August during the EFL Cup victory over AFC Wimbledon. However, considering that Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Raheem Sterling are likely to be ahead of him in terms of minutes on the right, this season might primarily be about gaining valuable experience alongside some of the world’s best players.
