Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United icon, has been discussing Manchester City’s potential to win the Champions League again, despite expressing his desire for them not to achieve another victory.

Cristiano Ronaldo, despite acknowledging Manchester City’s strong chance of winning the Champions League again this season, expressed his reluctance to see them achieve success.

The football icon, a multiple-time Ballon d’Or winner, emphasized that while City is a formidable contender, he hopes they do not secure another Champions League crown.

Ronaldo, known for his significant contributions to Manchester United, discussed the potential favorites for the competition, including Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.

He proceeded to praise Manchester City for their remarkable achievement in securing a historic treble last season, extending his congratulations to the players and coach for their superb performance.

Ronaldo acknowledged City’s well-deserved Champions League victory, expressing enjoyment in watching them play.

Before his return to Manchester United for the second time, there were brief moments when it seemed Ronaldo might join Manchester City.

However, United intervened, bringing the Portuguese forward back to Old Trafford.

Regrettably, Ronaldo’s second stint at Manchester United was short-lived. He later revealed feeling “betrayed” by the club and criticized Ten Hag during an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in November 2022. Subsequently, he departed the club a few days later.

In response to the news, Ronaldo released a statement stating, “Following discussions with Manchester United, we have mutually agreed to terminate our contract prematurely.

I have immense love for Manchester United and its fans, and that sentiment will never change.

However, I believe it is the right moment for me to pursue a new challenge. I extend my best wishes to the team for the remainder of the season and beyond.”

After leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo made a significant move to Saudi Arabia, joining Al-Nassr.

His departure marked him as the first high-profile player to make such a move, with several other notable figures, including those from the Premier League, subsequently following suit in relocating to the Gulf State.
