Jadon Sancho is on the brink of a temporary departure from Manchester United, with strong indications pointing towards a loan move back to Borussia Dortmund.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, awaiting approval for Sancho to join Dortmund’s winter training camp.

In 2021, Sancho made a high-profile move from Dortmund to Manchester United for €85 million after an impressive stint at Signal Iduna Park.

While successful at United initially, the 23-year-old English talent faced challenges, including a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag in September, leading to his exclusion from the first-team squad.

Despite attempts to reconcile, Sancho declined, resulting in no game time since the incident.

A January departure seemed inevitable, and now, a six-month loan return to Borussia Dortmund is in progress.

Although Romano indicates the deal isn’t finalized, preparations for Sancho’s move to Dortmund’s camp in Marbella are underway.

The final stages of negotiations involve a fee of around €4 million, covering the loan and salary aspects.

Dortmund’s winter training camp in Marbella includes friendly matches against AZ Alkmaar on January 6 and Standard Liege on January 9, leading up to their Bundesliga return match against Darmstadt on January 13.

The potential loan move represents a significant shift for Sancho, offering him the chance to revive his career at a familiar club.

The ongoing negotiations emphasize the financial aspects of the deal, with both clubs working towards a resolution that accommodates the loan arrangement and salary considerations.

As discussions progress, attention turns to whether the talented winger will successfully return to Dortmund and potentially rediscover his form during the loan spell.
