The financial accounts for the 2022–2023 season reveal that Manchester United achieved a record revenue of £648 million.

Despite participating in the Europa League, the club experienced a significant increase in both commercial and matchday income streams, offsetting a modest decrease in broadcasting revenue.

The total revenue for the year ending on June 30, 2023, amounted to £648.4 million. Automatic clauses in player contracts led to a reduction in the salary bill by £52.8 million due to the team not qualifying for the Champions League.

Despite these adjustments, there was a modest operational deficit of £11.2 million, highlighting the complex financial dynamics involved. Projections for the fiscal year 2023/24 suggest potential earnings of up to £680 million.

Despite £33.6 million being distributed in the previous year, it is reported that the Glazer family did not receive any dividends.

Manchester United, with its return to the Champions League, is anticipating another record revenue in the 2023–2024 season, potentially reaching £680 million.

The upcoming summer will witness the commencement of a lucrative new shirt sponsorship deal with the Qualcomm brand Snapdragon, along with the renewal of the adidas kit deal in 2025.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is in the process of becoming a minority owner with a 25% stake and an active role, following the Glazer family’s announcement of exploring “strategic alternatives” over a year ago. Ratcliffe, overcoming opposition, is preparing to enhance the club’s sporting department as a primary goal.
