After West Ham’s convincing win against Manchester United, Paul Scholes criticized Erik ten Hag for his “naive” approach in away games, pointing out ongoing issues against stronger opponents.

United has struggled in away matches under Ten Hag, including recent losses to West Ham, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Newcastle. Scholes expressed concern about the tactical approach, particularly the use of one holding midfielder in away games against top teams.

The unexpected inclusion of 19-year-old defender Willy Kambwala in the starting lineup for the West Ham match raised further questions.

The defeat intensifies the pressure on Ten Hag, who now faces increased scrutiny, especially with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s potential acquisition of a twenty-five percent share in the club.

As the January transfer window approaches, Ten Hag’s strategic adjustments and ability to address away-game struggles become crucial for United’s success.

This is more than enough. ETH’s ta cticts does’nt work with these players and through the quality of these players cannot deliver what the coach want. We have some top players but we need to change the coach.
