Chelsea and Arsenal, among other Premier League clubs seeking a striker, might face disappointment in January.

Ivan Toney, a top target for both teams from Brentford, is unlikely to be sold during the winter transfer window.

The Mirror reports that Brentford has no plans to part with their star player and intends to postpone any potential sale until the summer.

Toney, an England international, is currently serving a ban for violating the FA’s gambling rules, and he is set to return to action in January.

This delay in the transfer could allow interested clubs to assess Toney’s performance after his extended absence from the game.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest update, Ivan Toney of Brentford remains a highly sought-after player, with both Arsenal and Chelsea maintaining interest.

While Arsenal is currently prioritizing their midfield, with Douglas Luiz as their main focus, Toney is still appreciated by the club.

On the other hand, Romano clarified that Chelsea has not initiated concrete negotiations with Brentford or the player’s agents due to various factors.

Despite ongoing interest, Brentford is resolute in its stance that Toney will not be moving in the January transfer window.
