“After he complained to me that he has been on the bench for a long time and there is no hope of him anytime. So I recommended him to my team, Bayern Munich and they’re ready to sign him. I’m happy that he’s finally going to be able to play good football” – Bayern Munich finalizing a January transfer move for a sidelined Manchester United player following internal deliberations and recommendations.

Initial talks have taken place between Bayern Munich and Raphael Varane, suggesting a potential January transfer for the French defender.

Varane, who initially made a significant impact upon joining Manchester United in 2021, has struggled to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup under manager Erik ten Hag.

Despite his return from injury in mid-October, the four-time Champions League winner has not started a game since the end of September, leading to speculation about a possible move to Bayern Munich.

Ten Hag’s preference for a left-footed player in the left centre-back role has led to Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, and Victor Lindelof being chosen ahead of Raphael Varane at Manchester United.

Due to this, Varane has been the subject of transfer speculation, and Bayern Munich has reportedly initiated talks with the player.

Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg suggests that a move in the January window to Bayern Munich could be on the cards, with a potential transfer fee ranging from €20 million to €30 million.
